My daughter is 11 days old and was born at 36 weeks. After day 3 in hospital they discovered that she had lost more than 10% body weight. Then the jaundice set in. Her bili ruben levels are still high but on there way down. The midwives think i am producing enough breast milk now. However, she has been clusterfeeding for 5-6 hours at night. The midwife i saw yesterday said this was normal however i am nervous that she isnt getting enough and thats why she wont settle at night. I dont know anyone whos baby feeds for this many hours a day. Im absolutely exhausted and i dont think anyone understands that i am up ALL night with her as most newborns sleep at least a couple of hours at a time. Have you experienced this? What do you suggest? Im lookig for advice and moral support to get through this! Hopefully she settles soon.
